Career StatisticsBallStat


BallStat will allow you to track complete career statistics with unlimited players and years. Please read all the below subjects before attempting to work with the career database. Use the export wizard to easily export your current league to the career database.

Creating the career league

To create your career league select Career/Open career league from the main menu. You will be prompted to create the career league, click Yes. The career league will be automatically created and setup. Before exporting data to the career league you must first add at least one year.

Opening the career league

To open your career league select Career/Open career league from the main menu. Your regular league will be closed and the career league opened. You may also use the Career button at the lower left of the main screen to switch between your career and regular leagues.

Closing the career league

To close the career league select Career from the main menu then select the name of your regular league. Note that if you exit BallStat while the career league is open, it will still be open the next time you start the program. You may also use the Career button at the lower left of the main screen to switch between your career and regular leagues.

Exporting data to the career league

Before you can export data to your career league you must have added at least one year to your career league. You must also currently have your regular league open.

To export player data to the career league:

1. Select Career/Export data to career league from the main menu. The export wizard appears.

2. From the export wizard select whether you want to export a single player or single team . Click Next.

3. Depending on what you selected in step one, 2 or 3 buttons will appear plus the Year selection box. Click each  button that appears and make the selections you want. You must also select the year you want the data exported to.

4. When all selections are made click the Export button.

When exporting data these rules are in effect:

1. If a player being exported already exists for the year being exported to and the database is the same, his previous career stats are replaced with the new stats. This way you can easily update every players career stats after each game.

2. If a player being exported already exists for the year being exported to but the database is different, then a new record is exported for that player. This allows you to see every players career pre-season stats, career regular stats, career post-season stats, etc.

3. Different databases can be combined while the career league is open by selecting Career/Combine player stats from the main menu.

Adding years

To add a new year  the career league must be open. Select Add/Year from the main menu. Select the year you want to add and click Ok. You can add any year from 1850 to 2049.

Entering players manually

To enter players manually the career league must already be open.


 1. Select Add/Career player from the main menu.

 2. Select the year you want to add the player to and click Ok.

 3. Enter player information and click Save.

 4. Select Edit/Career player from the main menu.

 5. Select the year the new player is located in and click Ok.

 6. Browse to the new player and enter his stats by clicking the Batting, Pitching, Fielding or User buttons. Make sure you save your changes to disk.

7. Repeat to add more players.

Combining same players from different years

To combine all players with the same name select Career/Combine player stats from the main menu. You may need to use this function if you track more than one database for your regular league.
You will also need this function to create a complete career totals report if more than one year is loaded in memory and you do not want each year listed separately.

Please note that in order to use this function correctly the names to be combined must match exactly (first and last names). If you must edit a players name to match, do it in your regular leagues not the career league.
