Getting started the right wayBallStat/BallScore

To make sure you get started the right way with BallStat/BallScore please read the below information carefully. This will save you from getting off on the wrong foot.

If you are going to use BallScore to score your games:

1. Create your league in BallStat. Do not add teams and players from the BallStat menu!
2. Add your teams, players and other information when you import your games into Ballstat from a BallScore .sbx file. With each imported game this process gets quicker. Starting with your second import you will only need to add players who played for the first time as the rest are simply matched up.

If you are not going to use BallScore to score your games and you plan on just entering totals into BallStat then use the BallStat menu to add your teams and players. When using BallStat only to enter games you will have to manually total your scorebook and enter your stats.

When scoring with BallScore remember to leave the cursor on the current batter to score all plays. BallScore will take care of moving the cursor so you don't even have to worry about it most of the time. Before a play is scored the current batters cell will almost always be empty. Remember to score events as they happen in BallScore. The current batter does not be come a runner until he reaches first base safely.

If your custom reports in BallStat seem to be empty when you open them then you need to set the correct properties for that report. Open the custom report, select File/Report properties form the main menu and set all the needed properties (especially AutoLoad). Close the report (select Yes to save) and re-open it and you should now see your player data.

When using BallScore always use undo to fix errors whenever possible. The Edit Cell function does not change the number of outs in an inning! If you do have to use Edit Cell the click all the tabs to make sure you changed everything that needs to be changed.
